Seeing as you are so close to Jerusalem and have a strong point of view about all matters -especially the settlers, please enlighten the Haareatz readers as to the physical condition of most of the Eastern part of Jerusalem as it was then under Jordanian rule. It was not the religious entity it is today. It was not the demanded capital of the Palestinians or the Jordanians as they really are Jordanians. East Jerusalem was a dumping ground. It was not afforded high religious status till the Jews captured the city and brought it out of the quagmire it was in. This is why Jerusalem should not be divided.
