Howdy Ernie; To continue, the Jewish refugees were expelled primarily between 1948 and 1960 and were not compensated for their property losses either. The big difference between the Jewish refugees and the Palestinian refugees is that the Jewish refugees were assimilated into Israel (about 600,000) and the rest into various Western countries where they (and their descendants) now enjoy full citizenship in the countries where they reside. To come to a just settlement would require an agreement between dozens of countries which is not likely. Since the number of Jewish and Palestinian refugees is about equal and their property losses comparable, why not just call it even? The bottom line is that it's the various Arab states which have maintained refugee status on the Palestinians not Israel.
