The solution to the rocket cycle is a total invasion of Gaza and the IDF going house to house in Gaza city. The IDF has been putting this operation off for twenty years. This operation would be a huge undertaking perhaps needing up 60,000 IDF soldiers and potentially calling up reservist for a few weeks. It would be a big conflict involving tens of thousands of Hamas and Islamic jihad terrorist and lots of coordination with air force, armored corps and artillery. in the aftermath the IDF must stop the tunnels for good. There must be a buffer between Egypt and Gaza. The Philadelphia corridor must be re-secured. This is the only solution. There is no substitute for this and anything short will only see the continuation of rockets falling on Israel and this cycle of violence.
