Let's face it in our "backwater of the Empire" with nothing to do but fight and defend our country not only from outside hostile neighbors, but also from internal anti-Israel/Jew hate, if it be on facebook or u-tube-this place is pretty boring. When we see the blue and white Presidential Air-force one aircraft complimenting the colors of our beautiful blue and white Israeli flag - are we not emotional and do we not wonder in our provincial and small-town mentality how polite it was of Obama to co-ordinate the colors of his huge aircraft to our beautiful, patriotic flag? How riveting it is to follow Obama around for 24 hours a day and not also wonder whether he is on some Israeli Reality Show that we don’t know too much about? Are we really interested in what he eats here and also in Ramallah and most important of all, have we not heard all the rhetoric so many times before? Personally, I am very proud of all the tick-tack meticulous arrangements, the pomp, ceremony, warmth and appreciation in the way that Israelis welcomed Obama to our fascinating country....Kol HaKavod

'It’s not only the two of us lying here': What the banned Israeli novel is really about

‘Borderlife,’ the book at the center of a controversy involving the Education Ministry, depicts a desperate attempt by the protagonists, a Jewish woman and an Arab man, to make love, not war. The issue of assimilation that it raises cannot be dismissed lightly.
