Whilst most the Holy land was captured by the Jews King David bought ( not captured ) Jerusalem because that was the city where the Temple was to be built and God didn't want it captured in war. The other piece of real estate that was actually paid for by the Jews was the Machpellah Cave in Hebron which was bought by Abraham as a tomb. The Canaanites were no relatives of the arabs.
