These 'security' personnel are simply playing out the inherent racism of the Israeli state. Anyone who is not Jewish (or whose 'Jewishness' doesn't meet their stereotype) is liable to be treated like dog muck. This is not due to reasons of security - as clearly illustrated by the case reported here - but is simply an expression of the contempt and arrogance that many Jewish Israelis feel for anyone who is not 'a member of the tribe'. And, if you are Arab then you can expect the worst treatment of all. If other airlines and airports acted systematically in the way that EL AL and NATBAG security do there would be hell to pay but, as Jews, we seem to think we are entitled to treat others in any way we choose. This includes, for example, young Israelis travelling around India and other countries who are infamous for their disgusting treatment of local people

IfNotNow doesn’t deserve the support of left-leaning American Jews

IfNotNow and its co-founder Simone Zimmerman challenge U.S. Jews to end the occupation. But they won't answer this basic question: Do you support a Jewish and democratic state in Israel, alongside a Palestinian state? And if not, why not?
