    - Which critics have been silenced? This is still a democracy. Just read Ha'aretz & then tell me that the critics don't have a voice - co-opting or eliminating political opposition is an innate by product of democracy. In fact, it is an innate by product of EVERY political system. Except in a democracy you eliminate by words and convincing. In fascist states you do it by killing them. In Israel, it is by democratic means. Compare that to what is going on around us. Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, and yes...Gaza, Palestinian Authority. - Ignore the courts; Here it seems that the courts ignore the parliament which has e to a stand off on certain very limited issues - harass minorities; The mnorities in Israel are NOT harassed by the government. The contrary. On the other hand, the ENEMIES of Israel who send terrorists and rockets are treated with relative kid gloves. They are not minorities in our country. They are in fact a MAJORITY in territories we would love to be rid of, if only their leadership would encourage and negotiate for real peace
