educational tv. pbs.org:American Experience, Race for the Superbomb (Edward Teller) Teller thought Mutual Deterence would prevent use of the bomb; however, he was later criticized for Star Wars because it might eliminate mutual deterence (although Star Wars does not work, and no shield has been found effective to ward off missile attacks). I remember how vehement he was about Star Wars, although all the critics were telling him it would not work (the cost of Star Wars was expensive as well), similar to the Iron Dome? After the superpowers got the bomb, the lesser powers now getting it (sad sorry, since the inventors knew its destructive powers and never wanted it used). Will mutual detterence still work?
