Vityually every Jew and non-Jew in this world has a different definition of ZIonism and Mr Yehoshua certainly has a beautiful one. I have nothing to add to that. But I would politely like to correct his remark of Theodore Hertzl being disappointed if he would see `the fact that the existence of a Jewish state is not preventing hatred of Jews in the world` This can never be otherwise: as long as The Netherlands exists, there will be people hating this nation, just like as long as Christianity exists, some people will hate it. Added to the problem of hatred of Jews is the fact that Israel, which defines itself as Jewish, is a violent occupier of its neighbouring nation, i.e. Palestine. Now many people will mistakenly think that Judaism, Zionism and the Israeli occupation of Palestine are based on one and the same Jewish idea. Israel and especially the Jewish religious settlers in the Westbank and Golan Heights, are very good at strengthening this false concept of Zionism.
