Israel is simply a nation state amongst the oppressed states that have become so to perpetuate the attachment that Israel has to its self importance. Eventually it will be realised that the Jewish lobby in the US is a force that has propelled Israel down a historical road which was unreal. Intentions do not always realise good outcomes. The suffering of Egyptians which causes then to rise against a pharoah can be attributed to the blatant support of the US inspired by the Jewish lobby. An expectation that any Egyptians will see Israel as other than a cause of their through support for the pharoah is a reality. The US bought a temporary peace by investing in a pharoah it now finds has a used by date. The best stance for Israel is to be seen to be supportive of a democratic outcome in Egypt and try and position itself ready to be more compromising in the future. When more nations recognise a Palestinian state, including Egypt, the extent to which Israel has improved the conditions for Palestinians will have significant weight. Now is the time for Israel to be proactive, rather than be found petrified in history.
