Eldar's piece drips with misplaced emotion and name-calling but not a nuanced or thoughtful look at Lieberman and his theories, which a writer should give him. In Eldar's universe Lieberman is worse than Meshal, who has the blood of Jews on his hands. Nonsense. Lieberman presents one theory of a solution to the conflict that, if threatened as a possibility at an earlier point, would perhaps have led to an agreement. Eldar perpetually fails to grasp that Arabs do not share the same allegiance to democracy as do Israeli Jews, which they reject for religious and clan reasons. Eldar, like George Bush, seems to think western concepts of freedom and liberty are natural to arab societies and belief systems. Guess again. Lieberman's views may be wrong, but he is not a monster. I would put the murderers of Jews in that description Akiva.
