"... by agreeing to expand the truce to the West Bank as well." the "truce" in gaza consists of arabs firing qassam rockets and of israelis not responding. why expand that? the talk about the qassams being in retaliation for idf actions in judea and samaria is reality distortion of the first magnitude: if not for the terrorists, the idf would not be acting. but the terrorist groups need an excuse for continuing the rocket attacks, so in typical fashion, they're claiming that israel started it, by hitting back. and technically, the "truce" in judea and samaria is already in effect - the palestinians agreed to stop attacks and dismantle the terror infrastructure, and have not done a thing to carry it out. instead, hamas has declared that it doesn't even want to pretend to fulfill its obligations. but the fact remains that neither fatah nor hamas has ever arrested a single terrorist. as long as terrorist groups are allowed to run the palestinian authority, there will be no peace.
