Definately the US has double standards when it comes to the nuclear file in the Middle East. While all know about Israel's non-peaceful nuclear projects, we never heard anyone calling for stopping these projects - even when Israel started diplomatic relations with two of its four neighbours (Egypt and Jordan) and had a peaceful agreement with its nearest neighbour - the Palestinians. Probably Mubarak is true when it comes to western democracy in the Middle East. Probably Western democracy is not the ideal solution for Middle East problems. Maybe the Middle East has to invent its own model of democracy - a model that respects human rights and society's heterogeneity. For example, see how many lives have been lost in Iraq as a consequence for the attempt to constitute Western democracy in Iraq. The question that should always be asked: is this what the local people want in this country?
