Dorothy: Apparently you believe that Israel was born in sin and thus has no right to exist. No one came to "steal" the Palestinians' (although there was no such word at the time)houses, the Jews returned home by legally purchasing land. The U.N. offered a State to both people (no one had to lose their house) in '48, but the Palestinians rejected the offer and chose a war of attempted genocide. Unfortunately, in that war, many of them fled their houses (I guess genocidal wars-especially against a people that have just survived the Holocaust-aren't always a good idea). Why didn't the Palestinians fight for sovereignty when the Egyptians and Jordanians were controlling their lives from 1948-1967? Maybe because their hatred of Jews is, and always has been, more important than their desire for their own State.
