Some facts. 1. Ramat Shlomo was a Jewish neighborhood until the Jordanian army killed or drove out its Jewish residents in 1948. 2. Jordan lost 3 wars against Israel. 3. Israel has a historic and legal right to the land. It is in the old Jewish quarter of east Jerusalem. 4. Israel owns the land and is not displacing Arabs. 5. The construction plans have existed for years, and will take years to complete. 6. This neighborhood would remain in Israeli hands no matter what land-for-peace deal is worked out. Obama and Biden and Clinton are simply wrong, and they have really put their foot in it by picking this fight. Telling Netanyahu to cancel the building plans is tantamount to telling him to resign and replace himself with a more compliant, more subservient brown noser to make Obama look better to the Arab world. Dream on, Obama.
