It is becoming almost a fad to speak of the demise of the two-state solution, and it certainly seems at times that Netanyahu's policies and Obama's lack of leadership are pushing us that way. But as soon as Israeli Jews savor the results, they will be very quick to reverse the trend. This is what happens. Without a state of their own, Fath and the PA will collapse and Israel will end up with the keys and the inventory. To forestall such an eventuality, Israel has to improve the economic and social lot of the Palestinians in the West Bank (which it has already started doing). To do that to a significant extent that would isure the Palestinians will live compliantly under occupation, Israel will practically have to integrate them economically. And that, ladies and gentlemen will lead to a single bi-national state. But my guess is that the Israelis would wake up and smell the coffee and would beg for separation before that happens.
