    Don't go too far back with this business about the Palestinians' "father and grandfather and great-grandfather" because soon you will get to all the many Palestinians that were illegal entrants into the land of Israel back in the mid- and late 1800's and the early 1900's, who were attracted first by the "empty" land and then by the economic development created by the Jews. The fact is, a significant portion of the Palestinians cannot trace their roots in Palestine very far back. Yes, some can. Many cannot, because they came from Egypt and Libya and Lebanon and that country that used-not-to- be-a-country at all, Jordan. However, the Jews have always been connected to Israel and came when they could. In 1900, before the large influx of Jews, the single largest ethnic group in Jerusalem was Jews, who were the plurality.
