"The only things that change are the wars and the characters." - Amir Oren Don't forget those willing to whip up hysteria. While Armies are often criticized for being ready to fight the last war, and unready for the next one, the human experience is that we learn from the past not the future. While armed forces must be aware of possibilities, they must be much more concerned with probabilities. While a war with Egypt is possible, it has an extremely low probability. Moreover Egypt could not invade Israel without an major repositioning that would be impossible to conceal as the preparations were in 1973. Thus Mr. Oren's peal for a military coup when war threatens is not a sound argument.
