President Bush has been the most pro-Israel president in the history of the U.S. Once the U.S. began to fight terrorism and protect it people, it understood that Israel must be allowed to do the same. Israel has conducted itself morally and effectively. The U.S. hasn't needed to interfere. As big of a fan of President Clinton as I was, all he did after Jews were killed was to say that Israel "must show restraint." Such mere words, when coupled with unsuccessful peace talks, are certainly no better that the current U.S. administration. And, even as a Clinton-loving, liberal Democrat, I believe that, with regard to Israel, Bush is getting it right. Yossi Beilin is off his rocker.
