Neither the Ulstermen nor their rivals ever thought that Londonderry was holy Protestant or Catholic land; the difference in faiths aggravated the situation but never defined it. Here, the Hamas and the Islamic Jihad and, as you say, the messianic Orthodox settlers, all define all the land west of the Jordan - and the land east of it as well - as holy land. One cannot hold a rational discussion or negotiation with any of these groups. Only the secularist PLO and the secularist Zionist Israeli parties can do so. This will have absolutely no effect, of courese, on either the messianic WB settlers or the fundamentalist Islamists in Gaza.
