When speaking to people during a recent holiday in the US, upon hearing we were Israelis, most said they were either supportive or highly supportive of Israel. Many were highly critical of current US policy on the Middle East. Some said that they had not voted for Obama and others said they would not be voting for him next time. Some were no less angry with Speaker Nancy Pelosi. At grass-roots level, at least, Americans seem to know their own minds, despite the media hammering we received over the flotilla affair. . No doubt many people will write talkbacks in an attempt to prove this observation false but it cannot change what we heard from a great many people from all walks of life in diverse locations.
