First of all, the UNGA is almost certain to recognize the Palestinian state inside the 1967 borders. UNSC concurrence would be nice...but its NOT necessary. The precedent will be set, along with the justification for individual international sanctions and boycotts. It will also open the doors to a possible invocation of UN Res. 377, if in fact the UNSC members cannot agree to endorse that recognition. But then there's the demonstrations on all fronts, the so-called 'third intifada'. What is Netanyahu going to do in face of an intifada without violence? You say he wants to arrive there with public and American support? Support for what? How is he going to deal with it? The way the IDF did at the border? The way it does on a daily basis, only on a larger scale? Israel is going to lose the battle for its illegally occupied acquisitions come the so-called 'third intifada'. Not even the Americans will continue their support if the only response Israel has is the only one that it knows!
