Obama does know how to make things happen. He doesn't know how to pressure opponents and believes that the way to advance is by convincing them. In the meantime, until they are convinced he continues to do what he thinks is objectivly "right". Take the case of Israel under Netanyahu. Netanyahu responds to pressure, as in well known to all Israelis, including right-wingers who are actually worried about this weakness. But Obama acts in exactly the opposite way. Soon after Israel rejected Obama's entreaties (and a sizable bribe) to freeze settlement construction for THREE months only, The Israeli anti-missile system Iron Dome came on line. Immediately, Obama announced the US will donate an extra $205 million so Israel can buy a few more batteries in a hurry. Why do that? Even AIPAC didn't dare ask for more money given that the US was financially broke! And now, Obama tries to get Turkey to become friends with Israel again. Why? Does he think that Netanyahu will be thankful to the US? This is just stupid behavior. Obama should let Netanyahu stew in the juices he generates by himself. Perhaps Netanyahu will be toppled faster this way. As the Israeli saying goes "Don't be right, be Smart" Mr. President.
