    While I don't like to see justice politicised, which is to a certain extent what happens when these warrants are issued, one must also consider that these people usually are war criminals. The fact is, this is part of the trade-off which Israel is beginning to have to face up to. If a country wishes to be accorded the respect due to a stable democracy, it must act like one. It is uncomfortable for everyone when the impartial facts and law make people we are used to regarding as friends into wanted criminals. But the answer is not to change the law to which facts are applied, but to examine why we regard such people as valued friends. This law has been a deterrent to many from visiting Britain in the publicised style of Almog and Livni- which explains part of why it has been underused in the past. Usually war criminals know that they are war criminals and don't embarrass themselves by inviting arrest.
