The hypocricy of the pro-settlement people and Mr. beilin haters, well, it's the same people actually, is dumbfounding. They claim that Abu Mazen is not disarming the radical terrorist organizations and therefore failing his side of the bargain. Israel, with its mighty military, has failed to control the settlers for almost 40 yuears now. The army is afraid of them and is constantly being pushed around by the radical and even not so radical settlers. The military high command has been huddled for many months now trying to find a way to evacuate a couple of lousy Gaza settlments and they still are not sure they'll be able to it. There is even talk of a civil war and a military coup. There's talk that some units will refuse to participate. And the same people who support the settlers expect a rag tag, virtually untrained and inexpeienced Palestinian security force to just disarm the powerful and deadly radical Palestinian terrorist organizations, boom, one, two three, done. And I thought that American right wing Christians were the most hypocritical people on the face of the earth.

This Valentine's day, celebrate not love, but the sublime bond of friendship

Friendship is free of the indignities, suffering and drama that characterize romantic love; it doesn't have an expiration date; we rarely suspect it to be a figment of our imagination. But love is what fuels our economy.
