John In SF. I agree with your analysis. I would like to add one more point that Abbas does not even have the power to make those decisions except what he is told by his masters in the USA via Israel. I know it is a shame! I wish he has the personal freedom to commit suicide. His fate will be determined when he is no longer useful to his masters. Just ask Sadam, Noriaga, Musharaf, the Shah of Iran and the list goes on. "Wars are never fought for altruistic reasons. They're usually fought for hegemony, for business.
