Almost all the reporters Shavit listed in the article (with the exception of Yoav Yitzhak and one or two others), as I said in Part 1, are hyper-politicized. They never viewed their job as "reporting the truth" or "uncovering corruption no matter where it is found" but rather supporting their Leftist candidate. They NEVER asked "hard questions" of Peres or Barak or Rabin when they were in power, so what Shavit is complaining about is nothing new. And why does Shavit think Peres would have been a "better" PM than Olmert? Peres brought Arafat and his terror gangs to Israel which brougth about THOUSANDS of Israeli dead and wounded, yet he is NEVER asked "hard questions about that" not even by Shavit, who has criticized the Oslo disaster. Why wasn't a committee of inquiry ever demanded to investigate that? Because THE LEFT IS RESPONSIBLE and they are untouchable. In Shavit's and the rest of the Left's view, Olmert's real crime is that "he isn't one of us-he came from the right".
