The article says "Abraham Heschel and Stephen Wise, two liberal Zionist rabbis who dared to condemn the settlement enterprise and were pushed to the sidelines." But Heschel died in 1972, before there was a true "settlement movement", and before the first official settlement was built in 1974. And what of Wise, who died in 1949! I suppose it's possible that Eldar saw a quote about Wise opposing settling in densely Arab areas, but the settlement movement is not monolithic on this point, with some settlers looking to build up in the open spaces, quite distant from Arab population centers. It seems to me Eldar is unfairly including Heschel and Wise as supporters of his own political agenda.
