There are two real sources of power in Egypt: the military and the criminals. Criminals are never united and their activities are everywhere, so they are canceling each other out. On the other hand, the military is highly organized and disciplined, so they really are assuming the command in Egypt. If the military decides the transition of power from Mubarak will take place in September, this is what will happen. In September the military may actually decide to keep on to the power and dissolve the parliament in Egypt. There is a well known historical parallel: the French revolution gave France Napoleon and many years of wars. A strong military rule in Egypt may be better for Israel than the Muslim Brotherhood, but it will be a threat to the peace agreement that Sadat + Mubarak carved out.
