    dhimi - come from ahl el dhima or people of concience - in other words people whose fate, rights and safety of person and property is in the concience of the muslim majority. That is what it means in theory and in deed. the zionists on these boards allways brandish it like a dirty word - well it;s not. It is an essence of democracy lost on peoples of the west untill well beyond the age of enlightenment that has been with muslims since the 600's AD: the rights of a minority are in the concience of the majority; that though the majority may facour certain elements of culture that are mainstream this may not infringe on a minorities rights to practice other cultural traditions and reject the mainstream cultural devices/norms. this exists in no religion other than islam as codified law or shariah whereby god puts the onus on the majority or the powerful to protect the minority or weaker religion. Ahl el Dhima, peoples in our concience....
