This is such a daft idea it beggars belief, and it's nice to see how many posts here call Dershowitz out on this. Why is it that when certain American Jews take the spotlight--Dershowitz, Foxman and Wiesel--they feel this compulsion not be anyone's moral compass, but the heralds of war on Israel's behalf. What is happening in Syria right now is a tragedy of staggering proportions, unlike anything we have seen before. It has the potential to completely destabilize Jordan, which is taking in far more refugees than it can possibly handle. The situation is barely better in Lebanon and Iraq. And instead of writing about the human dimension of this tragedy, Alan Dershowitz is beating the drums of war, calling on America to bomb yet another Muslim country. Surely the good editors at Ha'aretz can say they've crossed a bridge too far by giving this blowhard a forum.
