The issue here is whether Israel should deport the children of workers who came into Israel under a legal visa and then had children. No nation has to grant citizenship to people born to non-citizens in their country. But that is not the issue here. The decision is whether to separate children from their families who will be allowed to continue to work and live in Israel. I think that the separation of these children from their families is bad policy and bad law. If jobs are so scarce that in Israel that the government needs to deport migrant workers so their jobs can be given to Israeli citizens, then do so. But do not separate children from their families. That is inhumane.
