The USA Congress is often accused of "blind" support for Israel. If this support makes it less likely that Israel will compromise to make peace and perpetual war with ever better armed Islamic militants results in a mushroom cloud over Tel Aviv, then no, it's not "good". Its also divisive. Do the Democrats want to be identified as the "Jewish" party? It's ironic that today much of the "blind" support for Israel comes from evangelical Republicans. Opinions change.
