The article skims bland themes from a popular view of history. The fact is that demographic imperatives have always always won out eventually, even in the face of withering censorship, sanction, and yes, even religion. Racist ideologies are futile against the grinding reality of the variations of individual choice within a society. Those who remain insular also lose their ability to cope with change. Perhaps one of the most interesting themes in world history is that political strength through wealth, technology , and religious organization inevitably yields to numeric majority at some point, even in spite of crushing conservatism. I don't think Israel will be any different.
