The United States has achieved it's goal of a democracy in Iraq. What discomforts the United States so much at nowt in time is that the democracy in Iraq mirrors the desires of the Iraqi people. Most Iraqis are Shiite. Many Iraqis are observant. Is it any surprise - to anyone other than the maniacs of the Bush junta that the government of Iraq is both Shiite and Islamist? Repeated 'stories' planted by the IDF and the Olmert government have made it clear that the Olmert government intends to start a war against Syria this summer. That Syria has sent many signals that it wanted a permanent peace agreement with Israel over the last two years cannot be denied, nor can the utter rejection of those offers by Syria by Israel be denied. Olmert, the man who made a total and most incompetent mess of his Second Lebanon War, clearly wants a war - not peace - with Syria this summer.
