Egypt is about to start its elections process this week. What is more natural for the various political parties than to "energize their base" and go on a mass demonstration for Democracy. And if they don't think there is a need for a demonstration, they still have to do it or else some other party will steal their voters. The military has agreed to transfer power by June 2012, a concession compared to their earlier decision to do so only in 2013, so clearly democracy is coming and there is no need for a demonstration. But energizing the base is part of politics and has to be done. I wish Egypt a smooth landing. It will be good for all of us.
