Shalom Meron, Since we both share the previous profession of sociologists in our CV, I thought it appropriate to write you a short note of support. You and Thomas Friedman share the dubious distinction of being my "Heroes" in addition to my late mother, and several others with insight and intelligence. I will never forget your warning (back in the '70s) that we would one day pay for our arrogance and occupation of the "occupied territories. You then mentioned the dangers of demograpic realities. I was only in basic traing at that time but even in milooim till 2002 ( I volunteered), I have followed your unwavering support of bulean logic in support of decolonialization. I am a confirmed realist (having spent many years in the Muslim world,e.g., Pakistan, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia)in terms of what is achievable in the newly testosteronized and internetized Muslim extremist milieu. Make your voice heard at every junction. Show GW Bush that it is not only "all about the money."Rafi
