In reports the last few days, there have been references to what "Europe" wants, and that we in Europe would to any extent want to support the "rebels". The truth is, there's no popular support of this anywhere on the political spectrum in any European country - it's all about 2 governments who want to escape their huge internal economic mess by pretending they still live in their colonial glory days. Truth is, people in every country in Europe, even in the UK and France, are by now sick and tired of this all too well known charade that has turned both Iraq and Libya to dysfunctional heaps of chaos even worse than they were under their respecitve mad dictators. At least Israel has the decency to think rational, about its own safety, that's fair enough - but it's not Europe's problem what happens in Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Qatar or any other country there. They are all mad anyway, obviously. I was very positive to the Arab Spring in the beginning, but it's apparent more than ever that people in the region are not able to handle freedom just yet, as hard as it may sound. Enough is enough, learn from Iraq and Libya and leave Syria alone!
