Frankly, it couldnt get much worse. Israel is not moving when it says it wants to move.Empty words as facts go on being created. The objective is clear: more land and entrenchment meant to arrive at a demogrpahic advantage. Friedman says that the US should just leave them to their own devices. The problem with that is that it will give netanyahu and an even more crazed right wing waiting on the sidelines to do what they have always wanted to do and that will bring about a justifed resistance on the part of the palestinians. Obama staked his political career on bringin this morass to a conclusion. If he does not, the position of the US, particularly througout the ME will be greatly diminished.Obama must lay down the law to Israel and speak publically and openly that if they do not stop all settlement activity and dismantle the outposts immediately, the US will take punitive measures. The zionist lobby will initiate a slander campaign but they must be met with the same greeting bibi got.
