PLO's Saeb Erekat says talks have ground to a halt due to Israel's rejection of Palestinian requests to resume full security duties in Area A.15:16 03.05.16 | 0 comments
I am no fan of HAMAS, but you know full well that Egypt opened the crossing up primarily for humanitarian reasons. Remember the day's of Israel supposed generosity when it allowed pasta and shoes into the Gaza Strip, soon after senator Kerry chided Israel upon visiting Gaza? Egypt of course has an obligation to make sure that its territory will not be exploited by anyone for weapon smuggling. They need to assure Israel about this. But Gazans deserve to be connected with the outside world without Israel's interference. Its their country.
