There isn't one person who writes in these vox populi posts who has the vaguest idea of what will happen tomorrow in the rapidly evolving situation let alone in the next ten years. Cataclysmic wars, one state solutions, perhaps, or nonsense. Who would have ever imagined that the iron curtain would come down as rapidly as it did? Who would have imagined that Hamas could rise and stumble in only fifteen months? Certainly dire predictions are for fools and sophists. The real issue is how do we get off the dime and make a new ME that will be the pride of all its various partners? Wars won?t do it. Endless hatred?a zero-sum approach. Honest work, positive, tolerant, informed, person-to-person and community-to-community initiatives, education, hope. The other stuff is for empty imaginations and impotent souls. There will be peace, it has been evolving and will evolve.
