Just to expand upon your point.... all those you listed were from sovereign states that existed before, during and after their respective upheavals... countries that HAD sewer systems, educational and medical facilities and so on. In 1948 there was ONE, I repeat ONE, Arab High School in all of occupied Palestine. Monetary compensation(in lieu of return) would be a coup under these circumstances.....but you already know that they will hold out vehemently for the wrong thing... and screw up any opportunity for a better life.... even more so, the roughest estimate of diplaced persond in post ww2 Europe is 25 million.... how many of those are diplaced today??
