The headlines this week reeked of déjà vu, reminiscent of previous confrontations and intifadas, as conditions on the ground in Gaza are becoming more and more similar to those that preceded the 2014 war.19:05 05.02.16 | 4 comments
Dav, in ancient times, when Israelites gave shape to the concept of 'zionism', there were no legal states. There were only tribes who decided to go right or left in the field to flock their cattle and build their infrastructure. Nothing governmental as we have today. Zion is nevertheless connected to the land, the land God in the bible destined for Moses and his people. Zion, Jerusalem, is where the temple stood. In today societies we have country, one by one divided into land, seggregated by borders, with a government etcetera. It is just the modern version of what once was. In this way, ZIonism is perfectly acceptable and connected to the land, thus to the Torah.
