I'm a little confused. DANNY RUBINSTEIN may know all about stretching a few conjectures into facts in journalism, BUT, he should NOT, in writing about the Bar-Kochba period, say that "there are any number of writings about the rebellion, including Josephus Flavius"... when even HE should know that Josephus was dead at least 30 years BEFORE the Bar-Kochba War. ALSO..... to say that they didn't even know that his "full name was Shimon Bar-Kochba" until Yadin, 45 years ago, is another "interpolation". Children in school, many "years before Yadin's discovery" were commonly taught about Shimon Bar-Kochba. What was not generally known, was that his REAL name was Shimon "BEN-KOSIBA, which Rabbi Akiva changed to Bar-Kochba to solidify Akiva's (supposedly) strong conviction that Shimop was the Moshiach.
