to detect reality, is being done. Tzipi Livni has called it "talks" with Abbas, not "negotiations" and rightly so, in my mind. Rice has called it the setting up of a "vision", if I am not mistaken, which is the same thing that Livni suggested. We all suffer, however, a lack of strong and determined leadership: Israel, Palestinian Arabs, US and Europe, without which little can be changed, I am sorry to say. Because to make a move that you ask is a very complicated and painful one, much, much more complicated and painful than leaving the Gaza Strip, during which we did have a powerful and respected leader, Sharon. And unless you wish to see a real civil war here, of Jews fighting Jews, which no one wants to see, any such move depends to a large extent on the ability of the Palestinian Arabs to see things from a realistic pespective. The only way that they will see things differently is due to international and Arab preasure. Will it be forthcoming? I do not know.
