Though Jerusalem rarely voices its opinion on the raging Syrian war, Israel secretly prefers war of attrition between the Assad's regime and its enemies.18:23 08.02.16 | 0 comments
Obama's policies in the Middle East reflect a desire to let events determine their own course. He does not wish to interfere unless events clearly threaten US interests. He may prevent Israel from taking certain actions, but not necessarily because he is supportive of the PA or Palestinians. He is simply interested in keeping the region from spiraling out of control to the point where it hurts the US. I would not expect him to proactively support a Palestinian state. The only way he would allow an independent Palestinian state to come into being was if he perceived the alternative would lead to instability and hence be worse for the US.
