Wow what a crock of crooked assumptions. For example: "The Palestinians are "not willing to renounce their claim to return to sovereign Israel." This is untrue. They have agreed to a settlement to the refugee problem that includes relinquishing their claims to return to Israel. And then this is staggering: "Israel, for its part, does not have a state institution powerful enough to evict 100 settlements with their 100,000 residents." Of course this is untrue. Just like Israel pulled out of Gaza they can easily pull out of those settlements. Anyway they can just say please leave. A country is not obligated to defend its citizens who are breaking their laws by remaining in dangerous situations. The only question is security. The vast majority of Israelis would agree to withdraw and grant a Palestinian state if they were guaranteed security. Any takers???
