Well, yes. Since Gaza likes to lob missiles, and Israel doesn't like that, the tensions do rise. It is hard to come up with a good reason why Israel would send Gaza any more than minimal humanitarian supplies. In that regard, the tunnels into Egypt did keep a booming business going in goods, and helped relieve the tension. But Egypt at the moment is busy making a steel barrier to close off tunnels. It is widely believed that USA is buying from Egypt the peace with Israel via foreign aid. Does anyone have any information on USA's position with respect to the tunnel barriers? My web searches come up empty.
