For instance, accepting the Quartet's proposal not only alienates Lieberman but makes Bibi look "moderate", at least compared with the alternative. He also "loses" his cabinet's support for implementing Trajtenberg's recommendations, again coming out looking like a "moderate". He can now claim he actually supported both initiatives while the far right wing rejected both. He forces Lieberman's hand, the government falls, new elections are called and he is on record having supported two popular themes. Too Machiavelian?? It might just work...
