Mr. Barel is correct. There is no good reason to make massive arms sales to the corrupt, oppressive, terror- supporting Saudi regime. But there are nonetheless unspoken reasons, including the House of Saud, U.S. alliance which has persisted for over sixty years. The U.S. not knowing what to do is doing the usual thing, selling arms for money and guaranteeing oil supply. After all Saudi Arabia's new friend China also is oil- hungry and has been making closer contact with the Saudi regime. The truth is the war on terror has not gone in the right way in great part because Bush dared not take on the House of Wahhabi Saudi Arabia.
